Small Medium Enterprise’s (SME’s) play a crucial role and should take a proactive approach in tackling climate change.
SMEs must measure, manage, and reduce GHG emissions which will help address climate issues, play an economic role in supporting the global and national net zero journey and ultimately preserve long term human and environmental health.
Our approach is to follow a step-by-step framework programme outlining how SMEs can achieve net zero:
1) Measure Emissions
“Good decisions depend on good measurement”
Understand the initial tasks to be actioned so that the SME can begin the vital process of measuring emissions.
2) Set Targets
Understand how your emissions can be reduced through science-based targets.
3) Reduce
Identify and implement emission reduction actions, mainly through a reduction roadmap for the delivery of an organisation's climate goals.
4) Account & Report
Step 4 of the METRAR programme sets out the tasks and steps required to keep track and account for GHG emissions and to report, both internally and externally based on the best interests of stakeholders.
